Yudong Chen is a Professor of Mechanics Department at the Jilin University(JU) in the People's Republic ofChina. From 2008 untill 2016, he served as Ph.D and M.S Program dipector for the department of Mechanics at the JU.
He received his B.Sc.(1992),M.Sc.(1998) at Jilin University of Technology(JUT),and Ph.D(2001) at JU. After that, he spent two years as a postdoctoral research associate in the Mechanical Science andEngineeringCollegeat JU.
His research interests have been and are in the optimal design, vibration analysis and control of the engineering structures.
He is the author of more than 40 papers in international journals and proceedings, in which the necessary and sufficient conditions for the controllability and observability in vibration control of defective and near-defective systems are proved. The results are very important for the nonlinear control. He is the author of the book, Structure Vibration Analysis.
He has also won two prizes, a first place prize of the Science and Technology Award of Jilin Provence, and a second place prize of the Science and Technology Award of Jilin Province, P.R.China.
