Vice-presidents of School of Engineering and Applied Science of Canadian Queen’s University visit our school

Mr. Brian Surgenor and Dr. Scott Yam, 2 vice-presidents of School of Engineering and Applied Science of Canadian Queen’s University, visited our school on April 7th, 2015.

In the first place, fundamental state was introduced by both schools, respectively. Next, 2 schools undertook consultation on the project of double PhD, and made substantial progress. After a formal signature, as long as the doctor-postgraduates of our school meet the language requirements (IELTS scores 6.5, TOEFL scores 88) and has applied Canadian mentor, the applicant could read in our school and Queen’s University for 2 years respectively. After the doctoral dissertation defense on both sides, the applicant could obtained double PhD degree of Jilin University and Canadian Queen’s University. In principle, Canadian mentor could offer the tuition fee (16000 Canadian dollar per year) and living expense.

Mr. Brian Surgenor and Dr. Scott Yam also visited part of the laboratories in our school, both of them spoke highly of the research environment, science research capability and talent trainings of our school.
