Mechanisms and mechine theory A (bilingual) is a scinece for researching mechanical basic princle. Mechanisms and mechine theory is a important basic course for mechanical engineering schools of kinds of majors, which is an essential base for students to learn the following courses well and improve themselves further. It covers the basic knowledge needed in analysis and synthesis of commonly-used mechanisms and the dynamics of mechanical systems. This course gives students an elementary ability to design and improve mechanical devices. This course plays an important part in cultivating students’ creative ability and great attention has been paid to this course in engineering universities. And this bilingual course can help students master some specialized vocabularies that will be helpful in future. Before studying this course, students mast learn “College English”,” higher mathematics”, “Mechanical drawing”, “Theoretical mechanics”, “Computer Language Engineering” and so on.

This course is open only to engineering experimental classes Jilin university. The main contents include planar linkage mechanisms, cam mechanisms, gear mechanisms, gear trains, other mechanisms in common use, speed fluctuation and its regulation, balancing of machinery and mechanical systems design.

Main Reference books of this course are two books: “Theory of machines and mechanisms”(New York Oxford, Oxford university press, 2011, John J.Uicker, Jr., Gordon R. Pennock, Joseph E.Shigley), “Mechanisms and machine theory”(Beijing, Higher Education Press , 2001, Ye Zhonghe, Lan Zhaohui, M.R.Smith).
